Mobile ad markets like North America and Western Europe are very saturated and it takes a great deal to acquire sustainable users from those regions, not to mention that every one of them comes with a very high CPI. It is natural for advertisers to seek more cost-effective source. According to eMarketer, North America will remain as the top overall ad spender through at least 2019, but Asia-Pacific is expected to overtake it in mobile ad spending in 2018. We’ve analyzed our own data, compared it with eMarketer projections and determined which countries are and will be the most attractive to advertise at; we are introducing India and Indonesia.

Facebook’s data tells us that since 2011, ad revenue coming from Asia-Pacific, has quintupled and now accounts for 15% of Facebook’s revenue. It’s definitely a region that evolves the fastest. Mobile internet adoption is fueling growth in developing countries and together with decreasing price of smartphones, availability of mobile ads expands. India and Indonesia are on the top of the list of the countries with the biggest prospects in coming years. Right now we already see an increased interest in this region and we can only expect it to grow.
When we analyse India, we have to realize that it is a country with the second largest population on earth, and a second largest Facebook user base. With growing number of mobile internet users and India's government implementing wi-fi solutions in 25 biggest cities, it doesn’t come as a surprise that this market is and will be on a radar of advertisers who will want to fish for new users with low CPI. AppFlood data shows that cost of acquiring a single user balances around $1,50. Another positive news is that internet users in India feel positively about brand marketing interactions. In Facebook and Crowd DNA survey last year shows that 78% of young people said they would share an interesting content from a brand with a friend.

The second fastest developing country, Indonesia, is gaining its strong position as a market to advertise at. In the same survey almost 80% of respondents in the age 12-24, said that they would be willing to share brand content with their friend. This result positions Indonesia as a top country with the most positive attitude toward brand marketing. Ad market will expand by 20 times its current size by 2019, according to eMarketer. Another thing attracting advertisers to Indonesia is low CPI (AppFlood data: $2.00) and undeniably Facebook’s popularity. More than 9 out of 10 users access Facebook via mobile, ranking No. 1 country for mobile Facebook usage.
Even though the amounts of $ spent in those countries are not yet comparable with more developed regions, we can definitely see a trend. In the next few years Asia-Pacific will be a region where a huge percentage of users are being acquired from. Unfortunately, together with it’s popularity we may also expect CPI prices to rise, and that is why as AppFlood we would suggest investing in India and Indonesia now, while it is still sustainable. In the same time, we need to keep in mind that the choice of traffic is crucial while advertising in those countries, as the possibility of fraud activities is comparable higher than in western countries.
